The past five years with my lil baby Yorkshire Terrier Royce have been amazing, but as he got older I started to get PUPPY FEVER! I always told myself that as soon as I graduate I will get a French Bulldog. So as soon as my senior year of college rolled around I started looking. (it's technically my senior year ..I have a total of three semesters left) I felt like I was finding scam after scam when it came to my frenchie search..SIDE NOTE: if anyone advertises a frenchie for less than $1500 its most likely a scam. Then I stumbled across a breeder out of Adrian Michigan and they had the most perfect frenchie puppies. I texted them and they responded right away with information. I fell in love with a puppy named Baska. She was three months old and everything I ever wanted! The breeder told me his mom bought her but she had some health issues.. at a young age she had rectal prolapse and had to be spayed. Before I said yes I googled everything that can go wrong with a puppy with rectal prolapse. It seemed like something I could handle. I also got her for a really good deal since she was already fixed. I was in contact with the breeder for two weeks before I made my decision.

On a random Wednesday (Wednesday Sept 13,2017 to be exact) my roommate Allie and I took the three hour drive to Adrian after class. On the ride there we made a quick stop at PetSmart in Jackson where I bought her pink doggie crate and her first toy. I was super nervous on the way there.. I had my doubts such as can I handle two dogs as a college student? Am I making the wrong decision..blah blah. As soon as I walked into the room where she was I basically handed the money over right away and was instantly IN LOVE!

HOW I PICKED HER NAME:
When I was searching for a puppy, I specifically knew I wanted a female and I wanted to name her Coco Chanel like the designer and purse. That's why when I saw Coco's black spots, I knew she was perfect.. the first couple days however, I couldn't decide if I wanted to call her Coco or Chanel.. I tried both and I think Coco fits her best.

LIFE WITH A NEW PUPPY:
With Coco (and most Frenchies) she has to be on a special diet. I feed her rice, beef, and sweet potato three times a day along with a grain free puppy chow. I also have have her on a strict potty schedule. She mainly sleeps through the night but I wake her up at 12 am and 4 am just to be careful. I have been trying to crate train her.. when I'm at school she goes into the crate. It's so hard to leave her cuz she whines a little bit. Royce and her get along pretty good which surprised me, because Royce is a very possessive dog when it comes to me.

SUPPLIES:
Shopping for a girl puppy was so fun! I bought everything PINK! Below are some items that I made sure she had when she came home.

BASKET- Homegoods with toys- Elite Pet Wooferz, Hartz dura play small ball, a couple sweaters, a pink leash..ect.
BONE- this is her favorite since she is teething. I got her the purple and Roycey blue.
BOWL- PETKIT FRESH Smart Digital Feeding Bowl in Rainbow Circle. The description of the item alone explains why I got this bowl.
WIPES- I got these wipes for the folds on her face and for her butt... since she had rectal prolapse, her poops are a little bloody sometimes (TMI) so I wipe them with these since they are chemical free...basically like wet toilet paper.
NOT SHOWN, BUT IS ON ITS WAY:
DOGIT GO SLOW DOG BOWL- Frenchies have a tendecy of eating fast and getting stomach aches..so this PINK slow bowl will come in handy.
ALEKO PINK DOG PLAY PEN- I got this so she isn't confined to her cage all the time.. this is only until she is fully potty trained and I trust her around the house.
PETCUBE INTERACTIVE PET CAMERA- I got this camera because I am a crazy dog mom and I want to know what my puppies are doing when I am gone.
EARTHBAG DOG SHAMPOO- This is the PERFECT puppy shampoo because it is tearless and smells AMAZING!!!
